11:30 AM Shaping Future Rail and Transport through Transport for NSW’s Open Data Initiative
Transport for NSW is fostering innovation through embracing IoT and the Open Data Initiative. This involves supplying rail-time data to apps with over 5 million unique customer downloads. For our rail networks, this can uncover easier, lower cost ways that customers can access the network or even optimise the movement of transport. Drawing on the importance of Open Data in supporting future rail and transport networks, Chris will discuss:
- Building the foundation and making a case for an Open Data Initiative to accelerate innovation and project your organisation as forwardthinking
- Accessing real-time data to help improve congestion-management initiatives and programs that lead to more reliable travel times on the transport network
- Understanding the potential of open data to analyse consumer behaviour and response to the network to develop innovative customer solutions and unlock opportunities for developers
